Friendship is a term used to denote co-operative and supportive behavior between two or more people. In this sense, the term connotes a relationship which involves mutual knowledge, esteem, affection and respect along with a degree of rendering service to friends in times of need or crisis. According to a 2006 study documented in the journal the American Sociological Review, Americans are thought to be suffering a loss in the quality and quantity of close friendships since at least 1985. The study states 25% of Americans have no close confidants, and the average total number of confidants per citizen has dropped from four to two. In a comparison of personal relationships, friendship is considered to be closer than association. We are loosing the grip of what true friendship is and we don’t value close relationships anymore.
God makes great emphasis in unity because He knows that the Body of Believers, His Church needs to bond together in order for the Head (who is our Lord Jesus Christ) to function miracles, signs and wonders through the Body. But what does the Word of God says about genuine friendship:
Betrayal contemplating taught
“A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.” Proverbs 17:17
“A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” Proverbs 18:24
“Many curry favor with a ruler, and everyone is the friend of a man who gives gifts.” Proverbs 19:6
“Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses.” Proverbs 27:6
“Perfume and incense bring joy to the heart, and the pleasantness of one’s friend springs from his earnest counsel.” Proverbs 27:9
“Do not forsake your friend and the friend of your father, and do not go to your brother’s house when disaster strikes you – better a neighbor nearby than a brother far away.” Proverbs 27:10
“Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command.” John 15: 13, 14
“Take no part in and have no friendship with the fruitless deeds and enterprises of darkness, but instead (let your lives be so in contrast as to) expose and reprove and convict them.” Ephesians 5:11

"One loyal friend is worth ten thousand relatives."
~ Euripides
What is a friend? A single soul dwelling in two bodies.
"A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out."
~ Walter Winchell
"The only way to have a friend is to be one."
"Love is temporary...but friends are forever."
~ Kelly Wheeler
Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow.
Don't walk behind me, I may not lead.
Just walk beside me and be my friend.
~ Albert Camus
"Your friend is the man who knows all about you, and still likes you."
~ Elbert Hubard

When we pray, we must start our prayers as very close and personal friends of God. Our God needs to become very, very personal to us. As part of an indisputable friendship, we must recognize who He is for us (an Almighty God, an awesome God, God the Creator, Abba Father, etc.), and acknowledge that we know what he also wants. A Friend knows what his friend needs and vice versa, we must have confidence that our Friend knows what we need.

“Father,” hollowed be your name, your kingdom come”

When we pray, we must pray as a body (unity) not as individuals, so God can bless us as part of His Body, His church, and not as individuals. As an example, think if you were to break a finger, the finger will not be the only thing that will feel the pain and the finger won’t be the only thing that will suffer consequences. Whatever that finger is being used in the body (example: clean up the ear, eat, direct, pick things up, write, etc), the body will suffer from loss of benefits from that injured finger. This is why when we pray we have to think much bigger than ourselves. We must consider the whole picture because we are part of His Body.

Give us, each day
Our daily bread
Forgive us our sins
For we also forgive everyone who sins against us
And lead us not into temptation

Our Lord Jesus Christ, after telling His disciples how to pray, He continues highlighting the value of friendship with God

“Then, teaching them more about prayer, He used this story: “Suppose you went to a friend’s house at midnight, wanting to borrow three loaves of bread. You say to him, ‘A friend of mine has just arrived for a visit, and I have nothing for him to eat.’ And suppose he calls out from his bedroom, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is locked for the night, and my family and I are all in bed. I can’t help you.’ But I tell you this—though he won’t do it for friendship’s sake, if you keep knocking long enough, he will get up and give you whatever you need because of your shameless persistence. “And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. “You fathers—if your children ask for a fish, do you give them a snake instead? Or if they ask for an egg, do you give them a scorpion? Of course not! So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” Luke 11:5-13 NLT

We must come to God as friends, but we are afraid to approach Him because we haven’t being that close yet with His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.

Integrity is the quality or state of being of sound moral principal, uprightness, honesty, and sincerity. Integrity is a value that is taught to you but also a value and principle that, as an individual, you may choose whether or not to use or demonstrate. God wants us to be a people of Integrity, people of honor, people who are trustworthy. A person who is demonstrating integrity is open and honest. This person has no hidden agendas; he lives a very transparent life. A person who is true to their word, they keep their commitment, and they are accountable for their thoughts, feelings and actions. People of Integrity are the same in private as they are in public. They don’t go out and treat their friends and coworkers with respect and kindness and then go home and treat their family rudely or disrespectful. People with Integrity are the same at church as they are when not at church; they honor such integrity even if no one is around for they truly believe that God sees all. People of Integrity demonstrate such quality even in the little things (arriving on time at places, disposing the trash at the proper place and not at the streets just because it is a very small grapping candy paper, making themselves unavailable for any gossip, respecting the lives of others, leaving work on time and not before without the employer’s knowledge, returning borrowed items and money, paying on time, etc). As you can see, our integrity is tested in a daily basis. There are no such excuses as “white lies” because people of Integrity have a strong conviction of whatever you sow, you will eventually reap. People of Integrity pay close attention to what their eyes see, their ears hear, and their tongue speaks for they guard the treasures of their heart. How do people perceive you? Are you distinguished as a person of honor, somebody they can count on, somebody they can trust? Don’t settle for being mediocre, doing what is right is an ingredient of Integrity; stay committed to Integrity and happiness will be part of your life as God will reward you at every place with His favor because of it.
Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue lasts only a moment. Proverbs 12:19
The Lord detests lying lips, but He delights in men who are truthful Proverbs 12:22
The righteous hate what is false, but the wicked bring shame and disgrace. Proverbs 13:5
Righteousness guards the man of integrity, but wickedness overthrows the sinner. Proverbs 13:6
The righteous man leads a blameless life; blessed are his children after him Proverbs 20:7

There is an increase of people using so many fancy words, a manifestation of so many new eloquent personalities, and many interesting blogs; and many times some struggles surge between themselves to see who has the last word or the most powerful statement. I think the Apostle Paul had already warned some people about these same circumstances. But at the end, there is only one thing that matters in my heart, and that is to drive the hearts of people to His Presence. Nothing else matters! And if I have been at His Presence already, I care less to be called any names, I care less to gain anything of this world, and I care less about how much knowledge I can gain. The only thing that matters is a pure heart and if I have to be the most insignificant friend of God in order to drive someone's heart to His Presence, then I can confidently say: "i have learned my assignment well under the feet of my Mentor, my Lord Jesus Christ, who also learned to be less than a servant in order for me to obtain God's righteousness (in Him)." But no body likes to be insignificant, humanly speaking, it speaks very low about ourselves; but only very few can truly appreciate: "i must shrink to the smallest particle possible so He can increase in every sphere possible!"

This truly is a very tough question and both answers are right, but both answeres need the kind of explanation any young child can understand. To say He is unpredictable, is validating our complete trust that God is God and our whole trust should rest in His sovereignty, but such belief can only keep us at a distance from truly knowing Him more intimate. My question to those who prefer to see "an unpredictable God" - What kind of earthly child, or grantchild would love to have an unpredictable earthly father? I think, the more time I spent with my father, the more i got to truly know him (and that made me brag about him). On the other hand; to say that He is predictable, is living an intimate and real relationship between son-Father and Father-son, but such belief can only make people think I am living a heresy for God cannot be contained in our limited space (body, soul, and spirit). But if we are full of His Spirit, why are we still limiting our capacity to really know Him?
Didn't He declare that He will reveal His plans to His prophets beforehand? Didn't He also wish that we could "all" prophecy? (words that were spoken by Moses).
I think our limited capacity to LOVE, our limited capacity to have FAITH, and our limited capacity to have HOPE is what gives every believer the wrong idea that God is "unpredictable"!!!! Remember when Jesus took John, James, and Peter to the Mount of Transfiguration? The protocol hasn't changed, it will take Faith, Hope, and Love to truly know God, see God, and think like God.
Would God ever do something that would go against His eternal love? Would God ever be pleased by anyone who operates without faith? Would God ever abandon our hope?
Once a believer loves as God loves, lives by faith as it pleases Him, and never abandons the hope that is within, he will not have to say anymore: God is unpredictable, for he will know the heart of God!!!
..with all my heart, it is time to say: "I am walking with God!", a God that I know, and a God that knows me!
to have an unpredictable God is like having a companion (friend) which we are not sure what's in his heart.
